The two batteries I have used - the big one (Newmax) at the back weighs in at
(shudder) nearly three kg! It's a 6.5 ah from Dick Smith's. The Apollo was a
2.7 ah, also from Dick Smith's. I never weighed the Apollo, but reckon it was
around 1 kg, as it was about a third of the size of the Newmax. The tape in
the corner of the Apollo was to reduce wear caused by the bidon cage rubbing,
and is why I now line my cage with an old inner tube... To get some idea of
scale, the Apollo was a bit bigger than two cigarette packets. The wires hanging
off the Newmax are only to prevent the risk of damage to the terminals by ham
fisted users (er, me...) when removing the main wires for charging.
